Yarn:

Fingering weight yarn. Mini-skeins (60 yard/50m minimum per mini-skein) 12+ colors or 2-3 100g skeins. Total yarn needed for smalled size: 800 yards (750m). Total yarn needed for largest size: 2000 yards (1800m)

Hook:

5.0mm (H) hook that can hold 20 stitches (no tunisian crochet hook needed)

Adjustable depending on size and quantity of mini-skeins. See pattern for more information.
